What to know about on-demand treatment

  • On-demand treatment, also known as acute treatment, is medicine used to treat the symptoms of an HAE attack. One reason to have on-demand treatment available is because everyone with HAE is at risk of an attack affecting the airway, which is potentially life-threatening
  • Even if you're taking preventive treatment like TAKHZYRO, you should keep on-demand treatment nearby (and periodically check to make sure it hasn't expired), so you're prepared to treat if an attack occurs
  • TAKHZYRO is not on-demand treatment. If you’re interested in learning more about on-demand treatment, you can explore one option here and talk to your doctor
